Due to the above, plus several resignations and a lack of willing volunteers to fill key posts an Extraordinary General Meeting took place in October 2021 to discuss the club ceasing to function

---

We hope you will enjoy our meetings and be able to support the club functions.

The club was formed on 28th May 1992. The aim of the club is to encourage an interest in gardening. Meetings were originally held in W.I. Hall in Halstead Road Kirby Cross. When that was demolished, meetings moved to the newly built Baker Hall but by 1995, the club had outgrown the hall and it was decided to transfer to St Michael's Church Hall Kirby-le-Soken. Since January 2020 the present venue is Soken House in the Triangle shopping centre.

Meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of the month. We have different Speakers each Month to talk on their specialised subject. A raffle is held at each meeting, on occasions we also have plants for sale at bargain prices and tea, coffee and biscuits are available.

There is also an Annual Plant sale plus an Autumn Fayre which raise funds for the club.

As a result of the fund raising we are able to keep the subscriptions at a reasonable level. Competitions are held throughout the year and trophies along with garden vouchers are awarded to the winners.

There are also coach outings to various interesting gardens and other places. Each May is the occasion of the founding of the club.\n A meal takes place instead of the usual club meeting. Also at this event a new President takes up office.\n We also have a Christmas meal.

The Committee is made up to a Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary and approx 7 others listed here.

If you have any queries problems or suggestions about the club ask a member of the Committee and we will try to help.
